I was sent information on this Diabetes Diet site. It is clear there is information here that should be assimilated and processed by those wishing to know more about this disease.
From my viewpoint, I ALWAYS recommend the following: Seeing a qualified doctor to make the diagnosis and to ascertain the staging of the diabetic condition by levels that can be tested for. Diet is critical – that goes without saying, and exercise and avoiding alcohol is essentially important.
The most common form, Type 2 diabetes, effects between 90 to 95 percent of the population of around 35 million calculated to be included in the classification of being diabetic. With this condition these people produce insulin, but either their bodies don’t make enough of it or they cannot effectively use it.
Loy w-grade chronic inflammation (reflected by elevated levels of inflammatory cytokines in the blood stream), may stimulate insulin resistance in the liver, muscles, and vascular endothelium cells, the layer of thin, flat cells that lines the interior surface of ones blood vessels. Such inflammation can last for years before leading to type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, or hypertension.
From what Pulse Nutritional can do to help? Well, calling me to discuss your situation is a good start – just visit our web and email or call toll free 1-800-783-9109. I would strongly recommend the AHCC (we carry the original product from Japan in health care professional packaging). This product help liver functions in numerous ways while also strengthening the NK activity of your body and the immune system. For insulin dependent diabetics it is even more useful in controlling this disease.
Research as shown this to be clinically studied/proven.
I would also be willing to review your diet, assist with an exercise program and recommend any other nutraceuticals that may be helpful such as sustained release Co-Q10, CardioChol, both of which we offer.
Our web is undergoing some changes – adding new products, etc. but it is continually up and running on the worldwide web.
While I concentrate on prostate cancer, I also consult on various other cancers/diabetes/HIV/Hepatitis/MS – other conditions – as well as the important job of simply helping all to maintain an optimal, healthy immune support system. So Important! Happy Upcoming Halloween Season and limit yourself to partaking of your children’s treats! (smart parents will limit theirs as well)

I am a graduate of Drew University located in Madison, NJ. I noticed that you attended the First International Cancer Conference, Drew University of Medicine & Science in Los Angeles, CA. Did Drew once have a branch campus in LA or did you mean to say the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science?
In addition, out of sheer curiosity, can you please tell me where you found the information that Type 2 diabetes effects between 90 to 95 percent of the population? According to the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention, it is estimated that of the 308 million people who live in the United States, 24 million people have Type 2 diabetes. Thats a far cry from 90-95% percent.
Dear Cynthia – The conference was held at what was referrred to as Drew University of Medicine and Science in LA. It is located at 1731 E. 120th Street
Los Angeles, CA 90059. It was not an extension of Drew University in Madison, NJ. While it is referred to often as the Charles R. Drew Unversity of Medicine and Science. it is, however, commonly referred to as only Drew University of Medicine and Science – as you will note in reference listiings in most print it appears as Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science incorporated Los Angeles County, California, …
the Charles R in regular type and the Drew University begins in bold type. The headers on our Programs listed “Drew University of Medicine and Science” but I appreciate your question as while many simply site Drew University of Medicine and Science only the full title is. CDU-Charles Drew University (after Charles R.Drew)..Hope. this clarifies this though on my site it will remain as is as those involved with this institution refer often to it as such.
With regard to to Type 2 Diabetes, let me make this clearer: Diabetes affects an estimated 23.6 million people in the US (90 percent to 95 percent have type 2 diabetes) – 17.9 million have been diagnosed, but 5.7 million are unaware they have the disease. According to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) and the American Diabetes Association, those affected include:
•11.5 million US women (10.2 percent of all women age 20 years and older)
•12 million US men (11.2 percent of all men age 20 years and older)
•186,300 people under age 20c
•12.2 million adults over age 60
•3.7 million African Americans (14.7 percent of all African Americans age 20 years and older)
•2.5 million Hispanic/Latino Americans (9.5 percent of all Hispanic/Latino Americans)
•14.9 million Caucasian Americans (9.8 percent of all Caucasian Americans age 20 years and older)
According to the most recent statistics, diabetes was the sixth leading cause of death, and the fifth leading cause of death from disease in 2007. Diabetes costs $116 billion annually in direct medical costs. Diabetes costs $58 billion annually in indirect costs (loss of work, disability, loss of life).
I reference that I do not specialize in diabetes but in immunomoduation of the CD56 Killer Cells as pertains mostly to cancer and in using GCP for prostate cancer – my largest group of clients. But I assit many with diabetes via the product AHCC as it is of great assitance to insulin dependent (Type 1 Diabetes) Thank you for your letter
